The Moose. Is there a more recognizable Canadian wildlife icon? Some say jokingly, he was designed by committee, with his long legs, antlers, large body and so on. However, the moose is incredibly versatile. He can dive to five metres and run at up to fifty kilometers per hour! The fur of a moose acts as an insulator and their nose works to warm air before it hits their lungs. (Some guests also see an elk in this charm, which is another huge resident of Banff national Park!)
